NES Hires Mark Weber as Controller

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) announces the appointment of Mark Weber to the position of Controller.

Weber was most recently a director in the audit practice at Deloitte & Touche LLP. While at Deloitte, he has trained personnel at all levels on courses for accounting and internal control at local, regional, and national venues. He also has served as a controller to a medical services company and has experience with not-for-profit and governmental accounting.

As NES’ Controller, Weber will oversee the accounting practice including remittance, payroll, plant accounting, accounts payable, taxes, fixed asset accounting and cash management. The position is also responsible for internal and external financial reporting for NES.

NES Linemen Top Ranked in Industry Competition

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) is proud to count some of the most skilled linemen in the country as part of its family, as evidenced by their performance this past weekend at the 17th annual Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo in Bowling Green, Ky.

The NES Donelson Service Center (DSC) team earned a perfect score placing second overall, and two generations of linemen earned top honors in the journeyman events.

NES’ Josh Fuller competed against his father, Jim Fuller with Murfreesboro Electric Department, in the Independent Journeyman Events. Both father and son earned perfect scores in all four events. Jim placed first overall and Josh placed second overall.

Rating Agencies Give NES Bonds High Marks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) has received high rankings from both Standard & Poor’s and Fitch. NES was assigned an AA+ rating to the bond issuance and was affirmed the AA+ rating assigned to all bonds currently outstanding.

This rating places NES among only a few other public power utilities in the nation to receive such a high ranking.

“It is gratifying that respected rating agencies express such a high level of confidence in our ability to succeed,” said NES Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer Teresa Broyles-Aplin. “Our commitment is to deliver the highest level of customer service and reliability at the lowest reasonable price.”

Robert “Bo” Campbell, Jr. Appointed to NES Board

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Electric Service (NES) announces the appointment of Robert “Bo” Campbell, Jr. to its Power Board.

Campbell is a partner attorney at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP in Nashville. His practice consists of business and commercial transactions with a primary focus on commercial real estate and in public private partnerships. Prior to joining Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, Campbell practiced more than 20 years at Nashville’s Donelson Stokes & Bartholomew.

Campbell is a board member of the Nashville Downtown Partnership and serves various professional and community organizations in Middle Tennessee. He is regularly recognized by Nashville Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” list and was named Outstanding Commercial Real Estate Attorney in Nashville in 2011. For the last five years, Chambers USA recognized Campbell as one of the top 10 commercial real estate attorneys in Tennessee.
